Wednesday November 6th – Dan Bern, Caravan of Thieves

Dan Bern is best known for his prolific songwriting and electric live persona. He has released eighteen albums and built a loyal following based on prodigious touring and output of songs in all forms. In 2012, Bern released two new studio recordings showcasing the American roots music that has made Bern one of the most compelling singer/songwriters of his generation: “Drifter,” a vagabond’s journey through Bern’s musical universe featuring a duet with Emmylou Harris, and “Doubleheader,” an 18-song tribute to baseball culled from close to 30 years of songwriting and recorded at Bob Weir’s TRI Studios in Marin County. Both CDs feature longtime collaborators Common Rotation with whom Bern has also released two live recordings.

Thursday November 7th – Dangermuffin, The Tarlatans

Special Late Night Show with Jerry On the Moon

Five years and four albums into a career that’s found them drawing circles around the lower 48, building a burgeoning national fan base, Dangermuffin embodies a curious paradox. The themes found within their striking new collection, Olly Oxen Free, sum up that juxtaposition.

Friday November 8th – Please PleaseRock Me

Please PleaseRock Me is the new group from the PleaseRock collective that compiles the music by and surrounding the Beatles. We go beyond accurate Beatles recreations, although we do some songs note-for-note. Our set also includes famous Beatles covers, songs they wrote for other artists, solo material, and songs from other bands they joined or collaborated with.

Doors at 8pm.  $12 advance

Special Late Night Show with People’s Blues of Richmond

Doors at 12am.  $5

In the Atlanta Room: Tommy Malone, Geisha Hit Squad

On stage, standing front and center, Tommy Malone exudes a laid-back, down-to-earth style that epitomizes The Subdudes. But his self-assured exterior masks a songwriter who mines heartache and elation, the surreal and the everyday, and who crafts the experiences into instantly memorable tunes. As The Subdudes’ lead guitarist, he punctuates soulful, heart-felt vocals with playing that is at turns joyful, incendiary, melancholic.
 Doors at 8pm.  $15 advance

Saturday November 9th –  Rosco Bandana, Jon Harris Band, Mississippi Shakedown

The Mississippi septet Rosco Bandana are the product of teenage rebellion and its consequences; of lost love, false starts and, above all, lasting friendship. They’re what happens when a group of kids take a chance on a long shot and – against all odds – it pays off. There’s also a Blur cover thrown in for good measure.

Sunday November 10th –  Gary Ray, Hope Sonam

As a performer, sought-after singer-songwriter and successful executive at the Nashville based record label and publishing company, Better Angels Music, LLC, Gary Ray is a music biz triple-threat. That rare combination of artist, songwriter and music executive gives Gary a one-of-a kind perspective on the business while simultaneously allowing him to direct his own career and artistic goals with insight not often seen in recording artists.  Overall, Gary is an artist with a unique sound, whether country, pop or rock, who has the innate ability to weave moving lyrical tapestries with up-tempo, guitar driven melodies and who isn’t afraid to push the envelope when it comes to recording and producing his own music or directing the careers of other up-and-coming singer-songwriters and recording stars.
