what the !@$# do i wear wednesdays: water sportin’

this what the !@$# Wednesday this week is for your sporty girls hitting the waves, lake, beach this summer but still want to look stylish.

you can wear a two piece just be sure the bottoms that have some coverage in the important areas, but you don’t have to wear a full on wetsuit.

one-pieces aren’t out either, they are very much in vogue right now and will definitely provide you with the coverage you need to be breaking a sweat out on the water.

brands like Billabong and Roxy (who just did an awesome collaboration with DVF) have complimentary and stylish accessories for the water sport including some shorts, and a wet suit hoodie.  neoprene is all over the fashion world right now you shouldn’t be hard up to find some cute and water sport inspired accessories such as this Kate Spade Neoprene Pouch to hide your goodies in.

trends on tues: mirrored belts

happy tuesday needle kids! yeay for a four day week! kickin’ off the posts this week with a trend i’ve been seeing pop-up everywhere lately, mirrored belts.

you can get mirrored belts ANYWHERE right now, i would suggest a medium to low price point as it is very on trend at the moment. but you also want a quality belt that is going to last the season. belts are a great way to give yourself some waist definition, and the mirrored belt adds an instant bit of edge to any outfit!

i styled it three ways for you:

penny lane’n: eddie’s attic songwriter series

im looking forward to kicking of summer this weekend, i am more than ready for a slower pace!

i couldn’t think of a better way to start off memorial day, than with a show at eddie’s attic. i find myself craving a show at eddie’s, that cozy little room, a glass of wine, surrounded by fellow music lovers listening great local music.

i’m in for a treat this thursday as my good friend ben deignan and his fellow songwriter crew scotty cram and jessica cayne are heading up to the attic to play some tunes. this is something you want to make room for before you kick off those memorial day plans.

tickets are available via my lovely friends @ticket alternative

(get there early…these shows tend to fill up)

see ya there!

what the !@$# do i wear wednesdays: memorial day weekend

memorial day weekend is upon us (yes three day weekend!) and i know you all need some help on what to bring to your boat trip, pool party, and/or bbq.

(click the photo for shopping details)

keep it light with some airy white pants.

a pair of cut offs will be good after a swim.

a one piece can serve as a top later on in the evening with your pants/cut offs.

cute and comfy sandals for night time walks.

retro shades for photo ops.

a light sweater for a night cap.

crushin’ on: festival bags

(click photo for shopping details!)

continuing on with our hangout festival theme, this week i’m crushin’ on festival style bags! last year i took a fanny pack and it was great. this year there are so many different style bags perfect for festivals. while you do not want to lug around a huge, nice, designer purse it will get dirty, it will get stepped on, but it doesn’t mean it has to be a trash bag either! bring something practical and suited for the beach.

fanny packs, cross bodies, or even a small back pack are all great. with a bigger bag you can hang a towel or your water bottle on it. cloth is great because the sand won’t be as much of a pain but whatever material you choose, remember there is a high possibility it will get wet. fun prints, fringe, and vintage inspired are great to look out for.

don’t break the bank, there are plenty of decently priced options suitable for a beach or any festival you attend this year!

what the !@$# do i wear wednesdays: hangout festival

alright most important for this week, what the !@$# do you wear to hangout festival? it really depends on if you’re staying near the festival or not. you can walk back your condo take a break, hydrate, and throw something on for mid-day and do the same for night time.

i suggest bringing mix and match suits, pieces you can layer, breathable pieces, and tons of fun accessories.

here is my take on some day to night options for you.
